Why are people burning Nikes? Well...

It all started when Nike announced on Monday that Colin Kaepernick would be part of a major advertising campaign, some people cheered. Others burned their shoes and ripped their socks.

Kaepernick, a former quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers who is now a free agent and pursuing a collusion case against the N.F.L., rose to political prominence in 2016 after he began kneeling during the playing of the national anthem at his games to protest racial inequality and police killings of black people. Critics have accused him of disrespecting the anthem and, by extension, the military and the American flag.

So it's an american thing...

I don't understand why people would burn their stuff or rip it up after they paid for it. It's kind of silly when you think about it. Nike has already taken their money.

The sneaker burners are drama queens and attention seekers in my opinion. I wonder if burning sneakers is bad for the environment? By burning your gear is foolish. Nike has already made their money off you so they dont care and now you have to waste your money buying something else. I bet they will buy another pair of Nike in the future. I'm an US Vetran and i feel Kaepernick was not disrespecting the military or flag.

@joshsneaker a smart individual would have tried to sell their unwanted gear and recoupe their money they spent on gear. Lol
