New Lines In Profile 'About' Section

I have in my 'about' section of my profile entered some new lines to make paragraphs to make it easier to read but they do not display on the profile as expected. I even tried the new line code "\n". Is there not a way to format your profile? Thanks!

It displays for me in big chunk of text instead of being formatted in separate paragraphs. That's my issue.
